Introduction.

“Post fata Resurgo” is a phrase that means “after death I’m reborn”: it’s the phoenixes slogan which is reborn from its ashes.

The legend of the Phoenix is culturally diverse: we find its origin in Egyptian mythology where its a greyheron with silver feathers and it establishes itself in the Greek mythology where its assumes its final form of Phoenix with golden feathers. 

The Phoenix is a metaphor for death that at the same time is birth, like at the same time the beginning is the end as if they were molded from the same substance: it’s the eternal spirit that finds a concrete form in the loop of life.

This series of photographs is developed in a schematic and circular fashion: in the setting it takes the shape of the polyptych (typical structure of altarpieces of the medieval and Renaissance period, composed by many elements opposite and balanced), where religious events were narrated visually on triptychsor diptychs.

The black-and-white diptych, which functions as a prelude, is the archetypes to the total model of the idea of the beginning and the end.
